Melbourne Film Makers

The project is aimed at 8-12 year olds living in the Fishergate and Walmgate area of York who want to make their own films and animations.

The Melbourne Film Makers is a partnership project between Fishergate Primary School, St. George’s RC Primary School and Space 109. Opportunities are provided for the young people to work alongside professionals and to develop their skills in filming, editing, script writing, sound recording, interviewing, acting, directing and creating their own music / soundtracks.

Over the years many films have been made. One of which, ‘The mysterious mishaps of Mr Me’, was highly commended in the York YOSCARS awards 2008.

The Melbourne Filmmakers have their own blog spot if you would like to find out more about their work, or contact us if you would like more information.

The group meets each Thursday after school, however no sessions will take place from September – December 2009.
