SoundWeavers
The SoundWeavers are a small group of disabled composers and apprentice workshop leaders, who use accessible forms of music technology and other sensory and interactive technologies, ranging from specifically designed assistive technology such as MIDIcreator and Soundbeam, to mainstream music software such as Soundforge and Cubase.
As well as giving regular performances, the SoundWeavers
take on commissions and regularly compose music for shows and installations.
Members of the group have also been trained through our Apprentice
Workshop Leader Programme, where they demonstrate accessible technology
to other groups e.g. schools and colleges, various disability groups,
music practitioners and teachers.
The SoundWeavers can also offer a consultancy service. If there is a piece of music technology you have that you don’t know how to use, or if you’re unsure what equipment to buy for your group, then please get in touch with us.
