Inclusive Young Filmmakers

With thanks to funding from Screen Yorkshire, AAM is thrilled to be piloting the Winter 2011 programme with Applefields SEN School and neighbouring St. Aelred’s Primary School.

Mainstream and SEN students can work alongside teachers and each other in an area of work in which they can succeed as equal partners.

After much practise behind and infront of the camera the group were eventually split into two mixed groups from the two schools who went on to devise, act, shoot and record their very own films, based on a theme of fairness. The project proved very successful and was enjoyed by all who took part.
As part of the project AAM supply a number of after care support sessions. These sessions aim to assist the schools with any problems or difficulties they may encounter along the way so that they can carry on film making.
The final films will be uploaded onto the Yorkshire Film Archive Learning On Line Website shortly
